The Homemaker Program is Around the Clock’s first and longest running nonprofit program. In 1997 operation began in the Delano, Shafter and Wasco areas. In 1998, Tehachapi and the Southern Desert region were added to our service area.

The Homemaker Program provides each client up to four hours per week of housecleaning, laundry, shopping, meal preparation or personal care services. The client pays a sliding scale portion of the costs based on their income, with the balance paid through local donations and community grants.

In 2002 this program provided more than 6,000 hours of Homemaker services to seniors in target areas. This year our goal is to provide 7,000 hours of Homemaker services in these same areas. To meet our goal, additional community support is necessary to offset the costs our clients are unable to meet.

Volunteers and donations to this program are welcomed, and assist in allowing needy seniors to remain at home, avoiding premature institutionalization.
